After 60 years of service, the CMCM decided in early 2016 to reorient its identity, reconsider its communication strategy and expand its services, all while maintaining the foundational values that are its strength: solidarity, family and mutual aid.
One of the first notable changes is hidden under the ever-present CMCM acronym: the “Caisse Médico-Chirurgicale Mutualiste” has become the “Caisse Médico-Complémentaire Mutualiste”. The metamorphosis comes with a new logo that has been used ever since on CMCM publications and materials.
Along with this refreshing new look, the CMCM is also rolling out several new products and services to meet the demands of different members:
- The membership process remains unchanged and still passes through membership with a health mutual. However, for the first time in the CMCM’s history, people who do not wish to become members of a health mutual have, since 1 January 2016, the option of becoming a member of the CMCM by making an annual contribution of 18 euros to the Luxembourg Mutual Fund.
- The rights of entry have been eliminated.
- A financial aid committee has been established to consider specific social and/or humanitarian cases.
- Membership dues for companies and their employees have been adopted and offer the opportunity for a 10-20% discount off of the normal rate. This special offer also includes the elimination of membership waiting periods for all coverages selected by the employer.
- A reduced rate (10% of the normal rate) has been introduced for young people under the age of 31 who are not married or in a civil partnership and have no dependent children.
- The statutes have been restructured to promote a better overview for the reader.
Finally, with a desire for openness, solidarity and equality, the CMCM has launched and continues to launch information campaigns across all media formats with the goal of better communicating its proposed benefits and reaffirming its values and commitments: justice and openness with all families, with no discrimination based on age and/or state of health against anyone who wants to become a member. This is at the heart of the CMCM’s interests.
